Special Effects Makeup Course

*5-week fast track course w/kit.

This intense 5-week fast track program is comprised of a variety of hands-on experiences including 36 hours of class training and 15-20 hours of practical application. All students receive an extensive special effects kit on the first day of class for their use during the course and at home for practical application assignments. Upon successful completion, a student will have the skills necessary to pursue a career as a special effects makeup artist, work on photoshoots, film, motion pictures, television and music videos (state licensing as a cosmetologist or esthetician may be required for some jobs).

Week 1 – Safety, Sanitation and Tool Knowledge

Injuries, Bruises, Scars and Scrapes

Week 2 – Gun shots, cuts and blood gushing technique

Week 3 – Aging, Frozen look, Chapped lips and Burns

Week 4 – Facial Hair Application, Color theory and body painting

Week 5 – Prosthetics
